水をめぐる環境問題を起点に、世界各地のダンスコミュニティが同時につながる「Grobal  Water Dances」。本作品は、三豊市・父母ヶ浜が舞台。1990年代、父母ヶ浜埋め立て計画に声をあげた浜を愛する地元住民は浜のビーチクリーン（清掃活動）を始め、7名から始動したその活動は今や100名を超える「ちちぶの会」に。

 

公演では、ビーチクリーンで幕を開け、三豊市のダンスクラブ「MITOYO DANCE CREATORS!（キッズクラス・ゴールデンクラス）」のメンバーに、国内外で活躍するダンサー・音楽家を迎え、子どもからシニアまで世代を超えた身体が集い、海と共に踊る時間が生まれた。

​当日は小雨の中、地域から老若男女問わず多くの方が父母ヶ浜へ足を運んでくださった。あいにくの天候だったが、その天候さえも風景の一部として受け止め、共有しながら、海や風、雨とダンスや音が重なり合い、「自然」と「表現」が響く美しい空間が浜辺に広がった。​

“Global Water Dances” is a worldwide initiative in which dance communities around the world perform simultaneously, taking water-related environmental issues as its point of departure. This work was staged at Chichibugahama Beach in Mitoyo City.

In the 1990s, when plans emerged to reclaim the beach, local residents who cherished Chichibugahama raised their voices in opposition and began organizing beach cleanups. What started as a small effort by seven individuals has since grown into the “Chichibu no Kai,” a community group now comprising more than one hundred members.

The performance opened with a beach cleanup and featured members of MITOYO DANCE CREATORS! (Kids Class and Golden Class), joined by dancers and musicians active both in Japan and abroad. Bodies spanning generations—from children to seniors—came together, creating a shared moment of dancing with the sea.

 

On the day of the event, despite a light rain, many people of all ages from the local community made their way to Chichibugahama Beach. Although the weather was less than ideal, it, too, was embraced as part of the landscape itself. As the sea, wind, and rain intertwined with dance and sound, a beautiful space emerged along the shore, where “nature” and “expression” resonated together.
